I am pleased to welcome you all to the 4th International Israeli Music Competition in London and, in particular, those gifted musicians competing in the event. One hundred and ten musicians, from 22 countries, are participating, 15 of them from Israel. They will perform 30 works taken from the extensive repertoire of Israeli compositions.

I am writing to congratulate you on the continued successs of the International Israeli Music Conpetition and the International Bloch Music Competition. It is a great tribute to you that the competitions continue to grow nationally and internationally and are attracting competitors world-wide. I am greatly impressed that this event is unique in the violin competition world. The music of Bloch deserves to have more prominence so I send my gratitude for your contribution.

My warm appreciation and thanks to the creators of the Ernest Bloch, and Israeli composition competition: To Lilian Hochhauser - President of the Competitions, Sagi Hartov – Founder and Chairman of the Competitions, The Bloch Society of the Jewish Music Institute (JMI), as well as to all staff who devoted their time and energy to establish the Israeli Music Competition and Ernest Bloch Music Competition into a universal acknowledgment of the richness of Jewish and Israeli music.
Ernest Bloch (1889-1959) was an authentic Jewish genius composer. His music influenced the world's and Israel's composers, whose music developed during the years under his influence into their own styles, flourishing as a new generation of promise, talent and vision.
